Pigzbe is a modern piggy bank. It’s the first tangible digital wallet that’s made for children.
We worked with Matt Brown at Extraordinary Facility to create the first prototypes of the physical controller.
The task was to design a bluetooth controller which could send accelerometer data, button pushes, and analog X/Y joystick data to an iOS device or Apple TV which was running a Unity-built game.
That created two challenges. The first was in designing the actual hardware and packaging it up into a size that could be handled and mashed in the hands of kids. The second challenge was in bridging the microcontroller and the Unity app. The final code was a mix of C, Swift, Objective-C, and C#.
